Melissa Data Launches Global Data Quality Suite
Corrects/Standardizes Contact Information for More than 240 Countries/Territories; Dedicated Personnel and EU Office in Place to Support Company’s Global Initiative
RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif., Feb. 19, 2013 – Melissa Data, a leading provider of contact data quality and address management solutions, today announced the availability of its Global Data Quality Suite to deliver accurate, current, and consistent contact data for more than 240 countries and territories. The suite includes tools to verify international addresses and phone numbers, as well as geocode street addresses by adding precise latitude and longitude coordinates.
“Sales from global ecommerce will surpass $1.25 trillion (1 trillion euro) by 2013,” said Gary Van Roekel, COO, Melissa Data. “But companies can’t just flip on the international switch considering the complexities of package handling and the fact that many countries do not follow the U.S. standard of street address, city, state, and ZIP. Our Global Data Quality Suite can verify and format addresses to the postal standards of each respective country, helping ensure timely and accurate deliveries, reducing costs, and improving customer satisfaction.”
Users can also use the Global Data Quality Suite to quickly and efficiently reach customers by verifying international phone numbers against Melissa Data’s proprietary database directly sourced from multiple telecommunications companies.
As part of its commitment to meet the needs of the international market, Melissa Data has tapped industry veteran Charles Gaddy to spearhead Melissa Data’s Global Solutions Initiative in the newly-created role of Business Development Manager – Global Solutions. In anticipation of this expansion, Melissa Data has also established a new office in Munich, Germany, to serve the European market.
“In today’s business world, ’going global’ is a significant undertaking because data originates from multiple countries, contains varying local formats, and is stored in different languages or special character sets,” said Gaddy. “That’s why global address verification is a must for international businesses. With the right solution, the challenges are not insurmountable and the rewards can be great when you start but you need to start with clean and up-to-date contact data.”
